I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. Pres. Bush is on the ballot this year, although maybe not as prominently as in the 2006 elections.

The White House is aware of that just as much as the McCain camp is, too. The best indicator of this is how they try as hard as they can to deny it.

From Dana Perino’s Friday press briefing:

But remember this election is — the President is not on the ticket.

But remember, he’s not on the ticket.

And this little exchange:

Q You said several times that the President is not on the ticket. Are you seeking to distance the President from Senator McCain?

MS. PERINO: Victoria, I’m stating a fact.

Q Right, which we know.

MS. PERINO: Well, okay, then, no, I’m not — I’m seeking nothing but to tell you that the President is not on the ticket, he’s not running, and you can’t — you don’t expect for him to be out running for President. He’s done that twice and been successful.

Yup, the name “George W. Bush” will not be on any ballot this year. We got that, Dana. Now how about when Mr. 28% and the guy his campaign ruthlessly smeared in 2000 will actually be seen together? You don’t seem to have an answer for that.
