For The First Time Since I was 11…

I am NOT watching as much as I can of a political convention…

I suppose that’s a bad thing for a political blogger to admit, and I WILL watch John McCain’s acceptance speech tomorrow night, but I just know that watching the GP{ trash Democrats and pretend that the flag is theirs would just piss me off and probably cost me money to replace my television when I threw my chair at it.

I haven’t seen the numbers yet, but I think it likely that last night the RNC didn’t draw as well as the DNC last Tuesday, I also think that a lot of people are going to tune in tonight to watch Sarah Palin – and I am tempted – because she has a lot of pressure on her with this speech.

But she can’t win with it, not even if she does really well.  There are so many questions about her – what with corruption and lying about her history with regard to federal pork – but she can’t answer those without bringing them all up again.  She WILL likely mention her “support” for her daughter who’s “doing the right thing” probably to great applause, but that is part of the problem.  Because she will have to take up so much of her speech with why voters shouldn’t NOT vote for her, she won’t have enough time to talk about why they SHOULD vote for McCain.

In any event, I don’t want to watch this deeply flawed governor get standing ovations from people who should know better.  I don’t want to hear her or anyone else talk about patriotism, implying that I lack it simply because I am a Democrat.

Not this year, not this time…

And I’ll be healthier for it!
