Wasserman-Schultz Dings African-Americans, Young Voters?

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but it is what it is:

Sen. Bill Nelson and Weston Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-schultz, two of Hillary Clinton’s top supporters in Florida, are sticking by her.

A statement issued late Wednesday from Wasserman-Schultz: “Senator Clinton continues to demonstrate that she has what it takes to win the Presidency … while Senator Obama does well in areas and demographic groups that the Democratic nominee will win anyway.

Now aside from the inanity of continuing to ding the guy who is going to be the party’s nominee (no qualifiers), this just seems, well inaccuate. How many people really believe Hillary Clinton will rack up the kind of margins Democrats are used to getting (and need to get) with African American voters after the way she has operated this campaign, and in the event that Obama goes to the convention leading by every metric and yet she comes out the nominee?  And no candidate, not even Bill, has gotten young voters to turn out, in a primary no less, like Obama has.

So forget the silliness of it all, Wasserman-Schultz isn’t even bothering to keep to techinically true or arguable statements.
